On Saturday, May 10, 2025, the community will come together to celebrate Khalsa Sajna Diwas with a Nagar Kirtan, a spiritual procession that reflects the core values of Sikhism—devotion, equality, service, and unity. This sacred day marks the formation of the Khalsa by Guru Gobind Singh Ji in 1699, a pivotal moment in Sikh history symbolizing courage, righteousness, and commitment to justice. As part of our tradition of Seva (selfless service), free vegetarian meals (langar) will be served to all attendees throughout the event.
Panj Pyare (The Beloved Five) lead the Nagar Kirtan, respectfully escorting Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the eternal Guru of the Sikhs, along the route through the Nagar (town). As they walk, the Sangat (congregation) recites Kirtan (devotional hymns), creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere. The Sangat follows Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji as a symbol of walking in the footsteps of the Guru. This act symbolizes our collective commitment to walk the spiritual path and live by the teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the ultimate spiritual authority in Sikhism.
We warmly invite everyone to join us in this uplifting celebration of faith, culture, and community spirit.
